I found it. This is a quotation from Henry David Thoreau. He was an American writer who belonged to Transcendentalism movement in the 19th century. His major work Walden revolves around the notion of nature and how it preserves us. He himself actually lived in Walden poud for a while and I think the book is about his experiences there.
